WATERTUR: Intelligent and sustainable management of the water cycle
The RECYCLES RISE project, led by the UAB, aims to explore the integration of the carbon, nitrogen and sulphur cycles in bioreactors in order to design optimal treatments to recover added-value products from liquid and gaseous effluents.
The first tasks of the project, in which AERIS participates, consist of evaluating the removal of nitrogen compounds in water by means of autotrophic processes, including bioenergetic analysis, the study of the stoichiometry and reaction kinetics, the modelling of the process and the selection of the optimal conditions.
This activity implies the secondment in AERIS during the next five months of the researcher Cecilia Polizzi, from Università degli Studi de Firenze. Welcome, Cecilia!
